Monster quest now i have another worry.
its been that way for a very long time, I think at least 20 years.

It is not like that in Canada. At least not where I live. I have seen many people walking their "part wolf" dogs. And I'v never heard of a law in Canada saying that you need a permit to own these dogs. I see many many German Shepherds too. Pit bulls are still free to own, but they are considering whether to ban them or not.
they already have had laws against them for a whle here, its not a new thing.

you can look at your state laws you can own a wolf dog in most state but the wolf dog has to be of a serten persent (sorry cant spell) like 20% wolf or less or 45% wolf or less anthing over 45% requires a prmit i think but as long as it abides by state laws your fine full wolves are for zoos an wild life prmits but google state law(your state) on wolfdogs or wolf hybrids where i live you can have a wolfdog 35% or under with out a prmit so look at your state laws

You need to have a professional license, or they release them into the wild. And I don't think we kids can get them :?

Get your dad to get one. And if they hunt, you have to make sure it's in a legal area for them to hunt. Husky wolves? They should sleep in a nearby forest. A house is a bad place for that sort of wolfdog to sleep/live.

You can actually take them to a professional wolfdog reserve and leave them till you get a license. It's like a kennel for wild dogs.
Take care, hope my non-l33t helped, lol.

Where does this rush come from?

it can if you get your wolf dog from a wolfdog breeder if you get i from some where else then i dont know what you should do but if you get it from a breeder you will have papers on how much wolf is in it
DNA testing can be done to see if the wolf is more domaint than the dog if so then you dog is more wolf an might not be aloud
ask your vet an see what they think

I wouldn't worry so much about the hunting part, because all dogs do that. It's just a natural instinct like Blindseer said.

And it isn't illegal to keep WolfDogs, though as far as I know you have to get permission or have some sort of licence. WolfDogs are classed as dangerous breeds, but so are; German Sheperds, Pitbulls, Mastiffs (I think) and other dogs like that.

So I wouldn't worry too much about it.

they do not release them into the wild. they put them in a shelter or have them euthanised.
and the regulations are very strict.

also, there arent very many "nearby forests" at all, and they are fed a special of diet that consists of raw meat; not hunt.

percent can still not be determined.

and DNA of dogs has very little veriation at all from wolves, as dogs were bred from them originally, and wolves have been reintroduced into the line all over the place.

Blindseer you said somthing about german shepards and pitbulls. Were you saying we have to have permits or just they are considered dangerous breeds because I've had a lot of those. I've had two german shepards, five pitbulls, and two pitbull and boxer mixes...

depending on your area, you may need a permit (you will need to check your local laws)

and yes, they are considered "dangerous" breeds.
