We're planning to add achievements to the tablet version of the game, and we'd love to hear your ideas for those. Post them below!

I'd add achievements that follow the "storyline" per say and then "special" or side achievements.

"Story"/Progression Achievements:

AM:
- Create your wolf
- Visit Amethyst Mountain territory
- Visit Soda Butte Vista territory
- Visit Grassy Plains territory
- Claim a mate

SC:
- Achievement unlocked for making it to Slough Creek
etc.
- I'd have achievements for visiting each territory/den site in Slough Creek (Secret Den will have separate achievement and will not be included in this), much like the territories I mentioned for AM.
- Achievement unlocked for chosing a den
- Achievement unlocked for having puppies
- Defending the den mission achievement upon completion
- Achievement unlocked for completing final journey
- Achievements for completing any other story mission I forgot about or that will be included/added

Side achievements:

- Hunt your first rabbit
- Hunt your first elk
- Kill your first coyote
- Chase off your first bear
- interact with your first wolf
- Hunt 10 elk... and maybe have other number-esque achievements for those listed above?
- Enter Scent View
- Marking your territory for the first time
- Visit the Cattle Ranch
- Kill your first calf
- Defend your pups against your first eagle
- Unlock the Secret Den
- Have a white pup
- Play on the new multiplayer map (only if everyone on all models can play on it)
- Play multiplayer once
- Reach a certain amount of experience points (something that would be obtainable before the end of the game?)

EDIT: Maybe an achievement for achieving all of the achievements? Kind of like the "platinum" trophies on the PS4.

I'll update this as I think of more
Also, you can really creative with achievement names... I haven't added any creative names to these yet but I can as well if you need ideas. ^_-

Hmm...

Maybe a silly 'easter egg' acheivement, something like 'Name your pup Loboloco'? o3o (I love Easter Eggs!)

I think 'Kill your first bull elk' is a must, maybe an achievement called something like 'Scenic View' for visiting Canyon Cliffs? Another silly achievement would be achieved by getting smiten at the Cattle Ranch.

More ideas coming soon...

I think achievements are a great idea for the game.

Something like:
-Mighty wolf (when defeating a stranger wolf)
-One big family (getting all your pups to the rendezvous site)

These would be really cool and a nice addition to the game.

My suggestions

Champion of Elk (hunt & kill 100 elk)
Champion of Hares (hunt & kill 100 hares)
Hare Scavenger Extraordinaire (eat 100 hare carcasses)
Elk Scavenger Extraordinaire (eat 100 elk carcasses)
Encounter Triumph (win 1 encounter with a stranger wolf)
Monarch of Encounters (win 100 encounters with stranger wolves)
Denfinder (find all of the dens)
Hunter of Coyotes (kill 100 coyotes)
Survivor of the Golden Eagle (make it past the golden eagle with all of your pups alive)
Guardian of Territory (finish marking your territory)
Howling As One (howl with your mate)
Finding the Landmarks (find all of the signs of human interference in Slough Creek - wheel, sign, boots, etc.)

Duskypack, actually :p

I know it doesn't make sense.

I think Champion of ___(hares, elk etc.) isn't quite suited for hunting, because Champion would imply you are their champion, so maybe something like ____(hares, elk, etc.) Hunter

I think a 'name a pup/wolf/mate Loboloco' achievement would be called something like Best Game Producer Ever! Because I think you are, Dave :3
Definitely going to be stalking this thread ^o^ Im already stalking Loboloco's posts for all the tablet news

Ooh, I have ideas! There are witty names for the achievements, and then what you did to earn it.

Amethyst Mountain Level:
A Whole New World- Create your wolf and start to play
First Blood- Kill your first prey (hare or elk)
Snack Time- Eat a carcass
Into The Storm- Enter your first wolf pack territory
Explorer- Enter your second wolf pack territory
Around the World in 80 Days- Enter all three wolf pack territories
Friend or Foe?- Find another wolf
The New Recruit- Be victorious in your first wolf encounter
Soldier- Be victorious in your second wolf encounter
A Force to Be Reckoned With- Be victorious in all three wolf encounters
Time to Settle Down- Meet a dispersal wolf of opposite gender and claim him/her as a mate

Slough Creek Level:
House Hunting- Pick a den to live in
This is MY House!- Finish marking your territory
A New Life- Have and name your pups
Break-In- Chase off a wolf who entered your territory
To The Summer Home!- Reach the Final Mission
Summer Vacation- Reach the summer den and finish WolfQuest

Side Achievements:
Runt- Get an albino pup
A Hidden Beauty- Find the Slough Creek den and claim it
Pesky Humans Are No Match For Me!- Hunt in the cattle ranch and survive
Master Wolf- Rack up 50,000+ experience points total
Clues- Find all of the human objects in Slough Creek
Hares Fear Me- Kill 70+ hares
Elk Shiver In Front of Me- Kill 25+ elk
Taking Down Big Daddy- Kill a bull elk
Defender of Pups- End WolfQuest with all four pups still living

Multiplayer:
New Friends- Join or create a WolfQuest Multiplayer server
LOL, That's Funny!- Send your first chat message
Working Together- Hunt elk by working together with other players

How about these?
Home Visitor - visit all wolf territories
The Great Hunter - hunt 10 of each prey animal
Exterminator - kill 10 coyotes
The Brave One - chase off 5 bears
Love is in the Air - Get a mate
Start a Family - Get pups
Amazing Genes - Get an Albino pup
Experienced Den Chooser - get the East Creek den
Airborne - experience the floating glitch (if it'll still exist, which I doubt)
For the Birds - chase off 5 eagles
Oh No! - lose a pup (any cause of death)
Bad Parent - lose all four pups and have to restart
Good Parent - complete the Rendezvous journey with all four pups

And of course Easter egg ones:

Developer's Friend - Nam a pup after one of the wolfquest developers
Loboloco Fan - name your wolf (or a pup) after Loboloco

Never thought I'd see 'chieves in WQ. Aight then.
» "Change of Tune", Musical Flower
» "Coyote Hangout", for fixed coyote spawn zones
» "No Wolves Allowed", for fixed bear spawn zones
» "Wonderful View" and similar for the more scenic zones (Soda Butte Vista, AM ridge, etc)
» "Deja Vu" for revisiting wolf territories?
» "Ain't there now" if a pup is stolen by the eagle
» "Here's lookin' at me!" or "Good lookin'" for the first screenshot?
» "Welcome to the Pack" for joining multiplayer for the first time
» "Time Flies" for sleeping the first time

Personally, I don't think achievements should be the same thing as the regular steps in the game (finding a mate, choosing den, marking territory, ect). It seems like overkill. I do like the easter eggs, and the ___ number of elk/bear/coyote/rabbit kills. I also think the "Deja Vu" revisiting territories is a good idea, or finding scenic places. A few of my ideas are:

Finding all the human impacts
Spending 30 min in AM with your mate before going to SC
Keeping your pups above 70% fed for the whole game
Completing the game with all four pups

I think achievements are a great idea. Maybe they could be worth experience points? Also, what about factual achievements? Little pop-up questions could appear at each step in the game and ask questions. For example, when it's time to grow your pups, a pop-up could ask "What's the average size for an adult male/female gray wolf?" with multiple choice answers. If you get it right, that's an achievement.

  • So many good suggestions! We might need a master list soon
Koa wrote:- Reach a certain amount of experience points (something that would be obtainable before the end of the game?)
  • Maybe this one could be across all game files? Or within one game file, either or.

    - Kill a wolf in the social arena
    - Back out of a fight in the social arena
    - Chased out 5 wolves from your territory

I think Koa's list plus a few more is just the right amount. Because you don't want it to be too many achievements to where they begin to overlap.

It still doesn't hurt to keep posting creative names for achievements, regardless of what achievement it is or if it is somewhat excessive. I'm sure it helps in some way. :)
