What's the Mysterious Creature??

Post by Cybril » Sat Nov 14, 2015 12:43 pm

Hello! I know this story I'm about to discuss is a little outdated, but I am really bored and I'm looking for something to talk about. xD Are most of us familiar with the mythical Chupacabra? I am, and I'm pretty sure most of us are, too. Anyway, last year a family in Texas captured a mysterious animal that has not been identified (that I'm aware of). This animal happens to look a lot like Chupacabra.
Uhmm, apparently this forum won't let me insert an image, but here it is, the link. :3

Ok, well a lot of people have made many theories on what this mythical creature is. Here is what some people are saying about this animal:
"It's a fox!"
"It's a baby wolf!"
"It's a dog..."
"It's a house cat!"
"It's a raccoon!"
"It's a jackal!"
Now, I personally think it's a raccoon. This animal eats with his hands, similar to that of a raccoon. And in case you didn't know, canines or cats don't... Use their paws/hands to eat. This creature even growls! Did you know that? I think it's a poor raccoon suffering from a bad case of mange. I mean, the physical exoskeleton of the creature matches up to a raccoon - the ears, the tail, even the snout. But maybe I'm wrong.
This animal has very sharp teeth and fangs, I don't know about you but I'm no raccoon expert. Especially not when it comes to teeth.. xD I never knew raccoons were so thin without all that fluffy fur covering them! I decided to further investigate my claim by Googling multiple images of raccoons with mange. I found a few that matches the picture of the mysterious beast.
It's very common for a raccoon to get mange.
What I found strange is that the couple who captured this beast found the beast feeding from their bird feeder. With its hands. That's a little odd. It has fierce snarls and growls.
Unfortunately, no tests underwent to determine the breed of this creature. This beast was soon taken to a shelter and was peacefully put to sleep.
I would not have put that animal to sleep, especially without running some DNA tests. I am quite disappointed to whomever put it to sleep without trying to test it. But oh well, just another mystery the world let slip away...

What do you think it was? Was this the real Chupacabra?
Here are some more images and even some videos of the beast.

Odd... I believe it's a manged animal... or a naturally non-furred animal. Otherwise no idea...

Definitely not any type of canine-- look at the paws.
Moving this to Nature & Wildlife.

Plenty of "canine Chupacabra" threads in Other Canids already.

It does really look like a white nosed coati, but without fur in my opinion.

Its unfortunate they didn't do a DNA test on it.

To me it looks like some sort of raccoon with mange - those front paws are a dead giveaway. As for its growl...if it had mange it would likely be weak, and thus its growl might come out distorted and sound like something else entirely.

Personally I don't believe the Chupacabra exists, unless there are reputable scientific papers out there to prove otherwise.

I would be surprised if it wasn't a raccoon.

Hmm, very interesting...
I don't believe in the Chupacabra though, at least not yet.

In my opnion the possible options are;

1. It's either a new breed with mange
2. It's a fox-like creature with mange
2. It's a raccoon with mange.

I'm not sure what it is, but I'm really sure it has mange, from the looks of it.

I agree with Jeames, the Chupacabra is a myth. The creature is described of looking like a reptile , it has two quite large dark tinted optics and needles that follow it's backbone. It walks on all fours but it can walk on twos as well. It's muzzle is constructed in a way which allows it to extract blood out of it's victims, which are goats in most cases.
But I really don't believe it's real, it looks like some sort of racoon with mange or a canine with mange...
I ran out of snarky remarks, unfortunately.

I've been thinking about this option, but I assume there is no way to get DNA samples from the creature to determine it's species? If that was a possibility then maybe they could find out that way?

Definitely a raccoon with mange. It's kneeling on it's back legs with its front legs off the ground. That cancels out most mammals, especially canines, since not many others can do that, especially in the state of Texas. Plus, like Solitary said, the paws are a dead give away.

Weasels, minks, etc... can also stand on their back likes much like tge creatire, but they are much too lanky and thin, where this guy is more bulky.
