New Species of Chameleon discovered

Post by Mr Wolf25 » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:20 pm

A new species of miniature chameleon disocvered in Madagascar, so tiny its the size of match's head!
Match-tip tiny, Brookesia micra (juvenile pictured) is the smallest of four new chameleon species found on the African island country of Madagascar. With an average adult length of just over an inch (2.9 centimeters) from snout to tail, B. micra is among the tiniest reptiles in the world.

Awwww... They're so adorable! They kind of remind me of young frogs size wise. It's amazing how many creatures live on this earth, right under our noses! It must have been difficult to spot these little guys, given their size haha.

Chameleons are great, my friend used to have two until one got really old & died then the other died a few days later. Really interesting animals though... it would be interesting to find a tiny chameleon staring at you.
