I just had to look up what Ron's owl looked like xD- looks like a White Faced Scops^^ Same as Transformer Owl.

I'm so happy^^ My grandmother finally sent me back my better owl caller that I left in Kentucky over the summer. I can't wait to try it out finally in my local park where the Barred Owls are~

I was on a website called Wimp.com and I found a video of this guy moving a brown owl to show it's incredible head stability. Link:

They do have gorgeous plumage- if you like the more pure white Snowy Owls, then those are usually the males. I actually took some picture at Zooamerica of the two Snowies they had there, one male and one female:

I like the great horned owl, the barred owl, and the barn owl.
Iv'e seen some in zoo's and in bird/animal sanctuaries at national parks.
I once encountered with a wild great horned owl. She looked down at me from to top of a telephone poll and hooted at me. And when she flew, her wings did not make a sound. Someone told me that the Native Americans call these birds "hush wings" because their wings make no flapping sounds in flight.

Have any of you all heard of the Raptor Project? It specializes in birds of prey and promoting their beauty and well-being. They have a traveling show that involves falconry and training of birds that are unable to return to the wild. If you'd like to know more, here is their website. It is a really great project and a ton of fun to watch.

Just going to creep onto this topic again....

So I've started my own tumblr where I post about owls, and while looking for pictures to post, I find all sorts of interesting things. One example is a barn owl who has melanism:

You should definitely try to see an owl- way cooler in person than just seeing pictures. ;D

Currently I'm working on a school project on the Blakiston's Fish Owl. They're big owls, for sure.

To be honest, I'm not really a fan of owls. (Saw a movie and now I'm creeped out by owls.) But my favorite would have to be either an elf owl or a great horned owl.
