Avatar FAQ's

What is an avatar?
Quote from the wolfquest Dictionary (http://www.wolfquest.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=34783):
Avatar- The picture or icon on your profile. It is also shone wherever you post, just below your username. Also known as 'avvie.'

What is Art Theft and where can I find pictures without stealing?
Art theft is when you claim pictures, artwork, ect as your own. Art theft is not allowed on these forums. You can read more about Art Theft here in Songdog's guide:

See Kodiak's topic to find pictures without breaking the law:

I can't make an avatar or an avatar shop, I need help!
Have a look at Kodiak's avatar creation guide (remember that making avatars does take time):

How do I make avatars with transparent backgrounds?
The color code is for a transparent background. You can also use it in your signature, however you must know how to put the color on yourself, or look at Kodiak's avatar creation thread (see above).

How do I get an avatar for my profile?
The FAQ's is the best place to look, especially this topic here (note that avatars must be 100 x 100 pixels or smaller to fit):

I need more people to come to my shop!
You can always advertise your avatar/signature shop here:

Signatures FAQ

What is a signature?
Quote from the wolfquest Dictionary (http://www.wolfquest.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=34783):
Signature- The very end of a post. It says the same thing on each post for the same user. Also known as 'siggy' or 'sig'.

How do I add a signature to my profile?
The FAQ's is a great place to start, especially this topic here (note that signatures must be 250 characters or less to fit):

How do I find symbols for my signature?
1. You can find symbols for your signature by going to your character map. To access your character map:

For Windows: Start Menu -Accessories - System Tools - Character Map
For Mac: System Preferences - International - Input Menu - Character Palette - Click the visible flag which you will see by scrolling down.
And follow the directions from there once you've accessed it.

2. Using certain keystrokes (e.g. Alt + 4) is also a way which you may access symbols. You may find a list of keystrokes here: http://www.tedmontgomery.com/tutorial/altchrc.html

How can I add BBCode's to my signature? (e.g. font color).

Basically you can do this in the same way as adding BBcode's to your posts, though here is a post which can help with this:

In addition - A defintion for BBCode from the WolfQuest Dictionary (http://www.wolfquest.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=34783)
BBCode- A type of HTML code that, when put into a post, makes things appear colored, bold, italicized, etc.

What is Plagiarism?
Defintion from WolfQuest dictionary (http://www.wolfquest.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=34783)
Plagiarism- The copy and pasting of another ones words or writing that has been taken credit for. This is an illegal act.

In addition, we do not encourage users to commit this while making a signature (e.g. copying and pasting a user's signature and taking credit for the whole of it).

If you have questions regarding signatures or avatars, don't hesitate to ask a Moderator. ^^
