A risk that needs to be taken if wolves are to be an accepted part of local fauna. I hardly wish to tell the bear hunters how to do their job (my own experience as a hunter is merely with rabbits, pheasants and squirrels), but I think it would be worth it to coat their dogs with body armour, or at least with spiked collars. Both should be useful against bears anyway, so what is there to lose?
I cannot see that wolves are in any way nobler in character than hyenas- Frederick Selous
