A "big pack" and a "big wolf mama" are all young pups need

A wolf pup growing up in Yellowstone National Park has a better chance of surviving if it has a big mama that lives in a big pack.

Those were the findings of a recent study published in the Journal of Animal Ecology that utilized 14 years of data collected on Yellowstone wolves.

I personally had never considered nor thought about wolf pup development in this light. I considered large wolf packs to be helpful with hunting for the pack, but not necessarily helpful in other ways. Thought I'd share. Enjoy!

What was intriguing was the coat colors section, where it mentioned coats had to do with their immune systems. Amazing.
