"Tyndall woman loses dog while out walking"

Increasing reports of wolf sightings have a rural area on guard and a wolf encounter left one resident saddened by the loss of her dog.

Liz Ledarney, who lives in Tyndall, took her six dogs for a walk in the middle of the day on a nearby trail two months ago. She heard faint yipping sounds in the distance, which sent her dogs scurrying into the bush.

"I was thinking 'Oh no, there are coyotes there in the bush,' and meanwhile, I'm calling my dogs for them to get back to me," Ledarney said.

She chased her dogs and was met by what she thought was a large coyote.

Thats kinda scary. But the dogs shouldnt of went for the wolves. The should of ran and listend to ther owner

If there actually hasn't been sightings of wolves in that area before, it is quite strange that they suddenly 'popped' up.

However, it's quite an shame that the owner lost her dog.~

Yes i guess it is... but if i was one of them dogs i would be runnin like theres no tommoro. You know what a mean ?

Well, this stuff happens. =( It's sad, but everything happens for a reason.
Wolves are wild animals and always will be, and there's nothing we can do about this.

This happened very close to where I live. I don't live in Tyndall, or around it, but I do live close. Poor dog, but I think she should have had them on leashes. 6 dogs? That's a lot. I really don't blame the wolves, they most probably thought they were something else, but I'm not sure.

True the dog should of bern on there leashes. But i guess some people think " the dogs will follow me " but its when something like that happens. They regret not having dogs on there leashes.

yeah i think its silly when people dont put their dogs on leashes cuz they're like "My dog is so obidient(spelling) and will do what i say when i say..." but i dont think thats the case i think in cases like this most dogs would have either attacked the wolves or run away no matter what the owners told them to do.

My dogs obedient and that... but hes a small jack russell in a big world. Thats why i keep my dog on a leash. Also put a leash on my kittens lol.

I don't really blame her for having the dog without a leash. Afterall, she probably didn't know there were wolves out there.

I myself have my dog without leash at times.~

Again, very sad that she lost her dog. But they should've been on leashes. Anything can catch a dog's eye.

I won't lie, sometimes I walk my dog without a leash (he is very loyal, and will follow me), and I live near a forest, but I live where wolves (except red wolves, but aren't seen around where I live), don't live, so ya...~

that women was kinda silly not putting her dogs on leads i feal sorry for the pom doe i use to have as well but it was the dogs fault for starting a the wolves

Aww poor doggy! The lady really should have her dogs on leashes though.
