Hmmm... Might number 19 be a broad-tailed humming bird? Or a Rufus humming bird?

Yet another bird with noisy wings! But not a hummingbird. Here are a few more clues:

...has a long beak
...they are most active at dawn or dusk
...some people think it is imaginary because it is the subject of a practical joke hunt often played at summer camp

Huh... you might have me stumped then. How about a Western Kingbird? I found some information on them using their wing-sound as a warning sound, and the dawn/dusk fits, but I don't know about the rest...
This makes me wish I'd spent some time at summer camps as a kid! :P

I added some more hints to the other final birds!

I have posted the remaining birds. Thanks to everyone for participating in the challenge!

I would love to hear when someone hears the snipe "winnowing". I have yet to hear it in the game...My wolf even sat for a long time where Dave said it lives... so long that my pups starved. I would also love to hear that in the real world... It is such a cool sound!

I think I've heard the snipe calling in WQ before, but I forget where. :/ I recognize its call, and certainly there are none of those that live where I live!

Not a bird, but I thought I heard coyote howlings as ambient sound.

Yes! There are coyotes howling in the game. Did you know a nickname for coyotes is songdogs?

I've heard of it. Hope some zoos make CoyoteQuest.
