2.7 Puppy coat inheritance chart

I had something so weird. I unlocked the 15000 exp ''white puppy'' finally but upon getting the puppies, one was dark and three were the same lighter color. I had three lighter colored puppies instead of one? xD

Haha, and it was very weird because the dark one was a black color and the light three ones were white with brown heads but all extremely light. Yet, and I've checked it, both the adult wolves could not give that coat color to their pups, like they were not their parents!
The mate could have caused the white with brown coat color, but as you can see for BDP-5 there should be some grey in it, there was not in any of those three puppies.
My wolf was BDP-2 and my mate was BDP-5!

I have no clue, but if you remember the text at the beginning of the slough creek mission says that pups can inherit coat coloration from their ancestors as well. So, your wolf's ancestor was kind of white? I have no other clue...

That could be what has happened here. But it's still extremely weird. xD
Because if they had the coat colors from the ancestors, then how did all three whiteish pups turned out completely the same? Then there could not have been a lighter colored pup I had unlocked because of the 15000 exp. This is just so weird. Wow.

Reading back on your post Jeames I actually think the black pup was the one unlocked by 15,000exp. Seeing as neither of the parents naturally produce a black pup but your mate does make the light pup color I would say that that game overwrote that pup that comes from your coat and made it black instead.
Just speculation though...

Actually what Lobo said, is quite reasonable, that could be quite possible. The game itself could've overwrote the white pup and turned it into a darker like black color.

Still playing around with possible mates to get the most variety of colors in pups (based on my wolf's coat color)

Does anyone know....can you get a male white wolf? The default light, white/grey from the 2.5 game. I only ask as I had thought I saw awhile back someone saying they only come in female, dispersal wolves (my wolf is female so the mate needs to be male) and had wanted to see how pups looked with this color for the mate....
Does this color wolf only appear in a certain territory?

I believe colors aren't restricted to certain territories and that it's random. I don't know if the white coat has been enabled for males yet.

Wow this is very well thought out! Thanks for sharing this, now we can compare the pups to the adults and sort of predict which color pups we might get.
I never would have thought that the pups correspond with the adult wolf colors in this manner.

Wow Frodo1 thank you for sorting this chart out! It's amazing! Now I have to write a note to myself to use the BDP-2 coat when playing WolfQuest. I really like that blond puppy.......
