Your favourite views

Post by sparky_wolf » Thu Dec 09, 2010 7:08 pm

Hello all,

This thread is intended for discussion about your favourite views in Slough Creek and Amethyst Mountain.

You may post your favourite places here, why you like them, add screenshots if you want to, recommend small things like turning off the sound to make the view more special and also rate them out of 10.

As well as locations it may be things as simple as seing a herd of elk or a coyote, etc.

Can't wait to hear some new locations to check out!

Note: This thread is not for you to post where you like to hang out as there is already a thread to cater for that.

I really like the view from the cliffs around Lamar in AM, looking toward Slough Creek in the distance. That just tickles me to no end. ;)

In SC, one of my favorite views is from the highest hill in Aspen. I get up there and hear the wind whipping around me and I can get lost in looking at everything. My wolf often ventures there for solitude when he needs to get away. The Canyon Cliffs are another favorite place of mine to just stand and look around.
Some of my favorite people are action figures.

One of my favorite is standing on top of the little butte in SC. You can see the entire map, and the different features of it.

In AM, (along with a LOT of others... LOL) the view from the cliffs down into lamar valley.

I like in the evening when the sun is low and everything has an orange shade to it. My favorite place is Canyon Cliffs, standing on them and howling is amazing; you can see everything. Its a 10 on a scale. My second favorite place is the Aspen because there is a rock (ghost rock) that you can run through. Its an 8 on a scale.

I love that place too. ^^
The hill just beside saddle meadows (I can't remember its name, I haven't been on WQ for a long time now but it's in the north-western section of the map), climbing up to the top of there and then looking down south, you get a really good view of pretty much the majority of the landscape.

You read me mind! I also like to go to the upland meadows and turn the music off so I can here the wind. If the landmarks are on all the way you can get a pretty good screen shot too.

Great posts everyone!

Don't forget to rate your views out of ten as this is very interesting!

Also you may add little things you can do to make the view better, like
MaxRide said about turning off the music to hear the wind. You can add links to screenshots of your views if you like! :D

I will be adding these options to the original post.

Well, I guess I better say my favourite view: I love seeing the herd of elk that you may encounter when on your way to Bison Peak Den and the views from Slough Creek Den.

I can't wait to hear more views!

My favourite view on Slough Creek is the view on douglas, when you go up the hill in douglas (The one below canyon cliffs on the map) a bit you stop, turn around and look behind you! You would see this amazing view!

There are so many beautiful views, especially those views from Lamar Overlook. Those are just wonderful. I love going and standing up in any high place, hearing the wind all around and gazing out across the landscape. I found such a perfect view, standing on one of the hills in Canyon Cliffs; I call it Leader's Ledge. Canyon Cliffs is an amazing place, with all its nooks and crannies and little caves and hidey-holes. There are even some places that could be great makeshift dens!

I love going to Canyon Cliffs and looking around from all the different ledges. I haven't really gone on AM in a while, so I don't really remember anything from there, but Lamar overlook is quite nice.
