The pups were starving to death soI had to go and search for some elk.I found a carcass of an elk and tried to take some food for the pups. At thatt moment my mate was pushing me away from the carcass again and again xD. And not only that. When I came back to the den and then tried to feed my pups, my mate was pushing me away from them as well!

Probably when he repeatedly got himself stuck behind the den, I had to shove him free while he was howling.

Oh my. Probably the funniest thing I heard all day.
-----------

Probably anything to do with that crazy river and my mate being stuck in the water.
><

Okay so for me I was bringing all my pups to a new home and a eagle was coming to get my pups so I walked away from my pups so when the eagle came I could get it away from whatever pup it was after and so I wouldn't get distracted by my pups as I was looking for the eagle. As I walk away from my pups my mate brings all the pups right to me and the eagle gets one of mu pups...UGHH :| :!: :!:

let's see, on 2.5 he was a nightmare. he never helped with hunting and always dropped the pups in the river or in front of coyotes ;-;
so much saving and reloading
but in 2.7 the worst thing is that he helped too much. he carried a pup all the way across both sandbar crossings when i was trying to do a nomadic play-through on the upper half of the map.

My most annoying thing so far is that he somehow went out of bounds and couldn't get back over to me, so he just ran in circles. Thank goodness for auto-save and my save-every-30-seconds habit.

On 2.5, my mate pretty much never helped me with anything. He just dropped the pups in the river and in front of bears and coyotes. And then he would always get stuck behind the den...the memories xD...
In 2.7, my mate is much better, but sometimes he just keeps running around in circles or then just stand there...

i hate how whenever i'm hunting, my mate kinda just... gets in the way. s/he always ends up pulling closer to the elk before i'm ready to attack, and s/he scares them into a sprint. it's pretty frustrating, ngl. i wish they fell behind you, instead of walked ahead of you. it would make things a lot easier when it came to hunting (and also chasing away coyotes)

Yes this 100%. Mine also constantly chases elk away by getting too close before I'm in proper range. Programming them to stay behind the player is something I'd really like to see.

In 2.5 my mate's general presence was a nuisance. In 2.7 I find it annoying that it chases the elk way into really weird places where I can hardly get to it.

When me and my mate howl in Amethyst Mountain, she just starts walking away and will only come back when I'm hunting again!!
and when I take the killing last bite out of an elk we're hunting, she walks away AGAIN!

In 2.5 I was on the final journey and we were like 500 yards from the Aspan den (Chosen den) and my mate (Redtail) picked up my favorite pup (Kate) and dropped her in the creek. I couldn't get to her in time she drowned. So I had to reload the game. And in two of my other profiles I would go to get food for the pups and my mates kept picking up one pup (When it was across the huge creek) and drop them in the creek, I got to them in time but you lose sooo much progress, I finally figured out to wait until they went for food and then go across the creek and fill up the meter.

When i chase the elk in one direction and then i have to sit down to "upgrade" my stamina and while i'm doing that my mate scares the elk in a complete wrong direction, real struggles U.U

Oh gosh, WQ mates...
Let's see here... Oh, one time during the journey to the rendezvous site, I made the mistake of trusting my mate to carry my pups across the river (big mistake, but it was my first time playing, heheh). He picks them up and decides that it would be a good idea to cross at the deepest part of the river. You know, logic. THEN, he stops RIGHT in the middle of the river. He did that with two of the pups before I learned the howling trick. Ah, WQ mates are the best, aren't they?
