That makes sense; that's a much better angle to tell from. Thanks, Dave!

I know it's supposed to look awkward but something seems really off about it. It looks... Stunted almost. Not all there. You get my drift. The forehead also looks like it slopes wayyyy too much in the profile image, compared to the real pup.

It's got such cute and awkward proportions, I love it!

It looks really nice :D I'm so excited, can't wait to see this in game with all the new animations. This episode is going to be the best yet! Will the pups grow to be the same size as you? also will you be able to play as one of your grown pups when you finish the mission and start a new game? Will these pups stay in the pack and maybe help you raise another litter? I know its a lot of questions but I'm just so excited! :D

It might be the angle of Luna (the real pup). She is slightly on a vertical angle in the picture (you can see her other ear), while the model its a straight-on side view (you can't see the other ear). Maybe that's what is throwing you off?

That might be part of it, but I definitely see what Shiverdam is saying. Whereas Luna's forehead is a nice "S" shape, the model looks much more triangular. From eyes to neck to ears/head crown, it makes an almost perfect equilateral triangle, much unlike the very rounded surface of Luna's head. It might be partly the angle of the image, because it looks much better in the original family shot, but I think there might be a bit of odd shaping in the model. However, I'm sure the team put a lot of thought into it and if it is indeed misshapen (rather than just bad viewing angles) I'm confident that there's a good reason for it.

The fur on our pup's forehead is a bit long, which does create a more triangular head shape. I haven't finished fussing with the fur length. The actual mesh is accurate.

EDIT: Haha, I actually did paint over that excess fur in Photoshop because I knew somebody would criticize it, but then lost those edits inadvertently and forgot to redo them. Sigh....

Ahh the struggles of having a highly observant and critical game community.

I hadn't realized that fur could make such a big difference: how interesting! Thanks for clarifying that Dave.

One of these Fridays I'll do a short video showing how to create the fur effect. It's kinda cool.

The pup looks great, thanks for sharing! Interesting that fur length makes such a difference in the pup's visible head shape, too.
