Re: Wolf Chat

Don't take me up on this, but I think dire wolves were shorter than gray wolves, but heavier and stouter. Anyone care to verify?

Like, not to be rude or anything but I don't like taxidermy in general. It just sort of creeps me out. OTL

Re: Would You Want To Be A Real Wolf?

It'd be cool to be able to transform to and from a wolf at will. If could choose though, there are other animals that I'd consider before a wolf.

Re: Update on Kolmarden zookeeper death

You claim that wolves and humans feel the same pain, emotions, etc., but when punishment is administered to the wolf it "didn't know any better" or it attacked in "self-defense." Any creature that kills another of my species should be put down, and I believe this goes for criminals as well. You can...

Re: WolfQuest and Guiness World Records

First 3D wolf game? First game where your pup's are eaten by coyotes, hawks and Grizzly Bears. The thing is... "Wolf" is such a broad label that werewolf games and the like can be thrown into the mix. Technically it's not the first 3D wolf game. I second making a WolfQuest record thread though. It ...

Re: The importance of Hunting

HunterStrait makes a good point, that the food we eat often comes from unethical practices, especially our meat and dairy products. That's something that often goes overlooked, or unacted upon, or quietly ignored as we make another trip to our local supermarket chain to grab our usual products. One...

Re: Wolf Chat

I said almost any species in the world. :P I agree that we are overpopulated... but not much people can do about that. Maybe wolves (though I doubt it) will evolve to be the world's next top predator.

Re: Wolf Chat

Hunters normally don't use much land for one, farmers do. Where do you think your food is coming from? If we don't take the land we need, you will starve. This exactly. We need all the land we can get. Humans have a HUGE population, larger than almost any other species in the world. Even if you don...

Re: gopher tortoise burned and smashed

It's even more gruesome and horrific once you watch the video... Most of you probably don't want to find it; I was just too curious not to. The tortoise was absolutely terrified. It broke my heart, to the point of tears. My only regret was not being able to stop this from happening before it was to...

Re: gopher tortoise burned and smashed

This is pathetic and downright horrible. No creature should be treated like this, period--it's blatant torture and shouldn't be called anything else. I watched the video and I was absolutely mortified by the amount of cruelty the group of girls unleashed upon this poor creature (rest in peace, litt...

Re: Recently released breeding female Mexican wolf killed

I have read articles speculating why the Mexican grays aren't getting the amount of help they need. Correct me if I'm wrong, but apparently ranchers/farmers/etc. in that region actually want them extinct because they "hunt" their livestock. There's so few of them that I can't believe they're causin...

Re: Forum Suggestions V2

Thanks for updating. ^^ I'm only adding on to another suggestion that has already been made, but why not have a large archive section for board-wide use? It could include subforums for old threads in each individual forum. So in theory, there would be the forum "Archives" and subforums under it lik...

Re: Should We Bring Back Extinct Animals? De-Extinction Deba

It depends on what kind of creature you're talking about, and how it went extinct. If you're referring to a species as ancient as the wooly mammoth, then no, I definitely vote against that. There's no guarantee they could survive in today's world, or that they couldn't harm already existing species...
