Re: What wildlife have you seen recently?
About an hour ago, my friends and I found a very small bat in the field across the street from our school. It kept raising its head and making a high-pitched hissing noise. It was cool but scary, and we were worried it was hurt. One of my friends ran back to the school and they called the animal co...

Re: Preserving Rainforests
That's cool! In my Science class a few days ago, we watched a video about Jane Goodall's life on the island of Gombe, talking about how important wildlife is and how much we can learn from animals such as chimpanzees.

Re: Favorite Breed of Bird
My favorite birds are Peregrine Falcons and Golden Eagles. I also like chickens too. I love Peregrine Falcons too; they are one of my favourite birds. I once saw one use its "diving" technique to catch a pigeon in mid-air - I was surprised how impeccably fast they are. It's incredible how swiftly t...

Re: What wildlife have you seen recently?
I was walking my dog last night and saw a skunk. After that, we headed home pretty quick. Didn't want to provoke the little fellow into spraying us!

Re: Coolest thing that happened to you at the zoo?
I went to the Stone Zoo and as my mom and I walked past the tiger exhibit, the tigers both got up and raced around the exhibit, then had an amazing play fight. It was a really neat experience, 'cause usually the tigers are sleeping when we go there.

Re: Favorite Zoo
I haven't been to many different zoos, but I guess my two favorites would have to be 1. Southwick Zoo 2. Stone Zoo I've only been to the Southwick Zoo once, on a sleep-away camp "overnight field trip experience". We got to sleep right next to the goats. Oh joy, the smells of the outdoors. XD I've b...

Re: Do Pigs Really Get the Credit They Derserve??
Pigs are adorable
And read this -
Professor Stanley Curtis of Penn State University found that pigs play and excel at joystick-controlled video games. He observed that they are "capable of abstract representation" and "are able to hold an icon in the mind and remember it at a later date."

Preserving Rainforests
I apologize if there is already a topic about this; I didn't see it. "What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." - Jane Goodall We want to make a positive impact on the Earth! This post is about The Rainforest Site. It is a website dedicated to...

Re: Croping and dcoking.
Hmm, I'm not necessarily sure where I stand on the topic when it comes to docking, though I'm really not for it unless necessary. My newest dog who is an Australian Shepherd got his tail docked immediately after birth since that's just how it is for that breed; they can either have docked or natura...

Re: WolfQuest: Survival of the Pack has been released!
I wasn't able to get on the website for a while earlier, and was too obsessed with the game to try, anyway. ;) Now I'm here, I'd like to thank the WolfQuest Team for doing such a wonderful job - Survival of the Pack is great! I'd also like to thank the mods, for answering all of our questions and j...

Re: 'My Dog is a Weapon'
That's terrible, both 'little dog syndrome' and 'tough dog gangsters'. And for the record, many little cute dogs, like the Pomeranian, are more active and bark more than huge 150 pd dogs such as the Newfoundland. This isn't true for all dogs, of course. By the way.. There's a dog a couple blocks awa...

Re: Red Fox
Some people are now breeding foxes and keeping them as pets. Personally, I don't think they should do that - aren't dogs enough? But then again, some people are also keeping black bears and raccoons as pets.

Re: Would You Want To Be A Real Wolf?
I chose "maybe". If I was born a wolf, I'd stay one forever. But as a human, well, there's so much out there to explore and do that wolves could never do. I'd miss my family and friends, too. And being a wolf would be cool. The smarter senses and physical abilities would be really cool. Basically, I...
