The current version is 1.6.3, released on July 17, 2008. Version 1.6 includes major performance enhancements, bugfixes, and additional safety measures for multiplayer games. This release fixes a crashing bug when trying to join NAT-assisted multiplayer games in Windows and a performance problem with games containing a mate. All players are encouraged to update.
